Type: Zinc Soldier Statue and Cannons
Description:
The soldier statue is mounted on a granite base. Each side has a different inscription: "Let Us ~ Have Peace ~ Cold Harbor ~ Appomattox" "Gettysburg ~ Fair Oaks" "From ~ Atlanta ~ To ~ The Sea ~ Chickamauga" "United ~ We ~ Stand ~ Erected 1904 ~ By Patriotic Citizens".
The cannons are 32-pdr smoothbore Shell Guns. They are mounted on metal stands on concrete slabs over bricks. Both cannon are 107.5" long with 6 3/8" bore diameters.
Behind the cannons is a new granite tablet inscribed: "This Memorial Is ~ Dedicated To All ~ Who Have Served ~ Their Country ~ Company L ~ 137th Infantry ~ 35th Division ~ U.S. Army ~ National Guard ~ Kingman, KS".
