Type: Bronze Plaques and Memorial flag
Description:
There are two bronze plaques and a memorial cased flag in the main entry to the Arkansas City City Hall. The first plaque reads: "This tablet ~ dedicated to the memory ~ of the Grand Army of the ~ Republic & presented to the ~ city by their auxiliary ~ Womans Relief Corps No. 56 ~ at their ~ Third District Convention ~ Oct. 17th - 18th - 1939 ~ at ~ Kansas City Kansas ~ names".
The second plaque reads: "You are not forgotten comrades ~ nor will you ever be; ~ as long as life and memory last ~ we'll remember thee. ~ Dedicated in memory ~ of ~ our fathers ~ the Union Soldiers ~ of the ~ Civil War ~ 1861-1865 ~ by the ~ Kansas Department ~ Daughters of Union Veterans ~ of the Civil War ~ May 6, 1946".
At the end of the hall is an American Flag cased with two muskets. The plaque at the top of the case reads: "Preserved in Honor ~ Arkansas City Post No. 158 ~ Grand Army of the Republic ~ by ~ Woman's Relief Corps - United Spanish War Veterans ~ Veterans of Foreign Wars - American Legion". A book of Services and a book of Ritual are included in the case.

Hope Cemetery
(31st and 312th Rds, southwest of town)
Type: Granite Soldier Statue
Description:
A soldier at parade rest is mounted on a square column. The square shaft has a GAR badge engraved on the front. The monument is inscribed: "To The Memory Of The Unknown Soldiers, Sailors And Marines, From '61 To '65." The base is inscribed: "61 - 65".
This monument was erected by the Sunflower Club (a social and literary organization including the ladies of Arkansas City). The seventeen foot tall monument cost $1000. Dedication was October 24, 1907. Ex Gov. W.E. Stanley gave the main address of the day.

Riverview Cemetery
(north west of town)
Type:
Granite Soldier Statue
Description:
Built and dedicated by GAR Post 158 at Arkansas City in 1911. All four sides of the monument bear the names of various battles and commanders. These include (by side):
battles of Shiloh, Vicksburg, and Atlanta; commanders Grant, Sherman, Logan;
battles of Stone River, Pea Ridge, Chicamauga; commanders Sheridan, McPherson, Thomas;
battles of Kennesaw Mt, Mobile, Cold Harbor; commanders Lyon, Farragut, Foote;
battles of Antietam, Wilderness, Gettysburg; commanders Hooker, Canby, Meade.
Around the monument are more than 60 graves of veterans. Next to the monument (to its right) is a plaque of the Gettysburg Address.

Type: Granite Monument
Description:
A small marker in the cemetery is inscribed: "In Honor Of ~ All Service Men ~ Of Our ~ Country ~ Erected 1949 By ~ Army & Navy Mothers ~ Dexter Post No. 25".

Highland Cemetery
(South of town - west of Main, South of River)
Type: Brick and granite memorials
Description:
The cemetery is divided into a north section and a south section. The north section has a brick memorial with a stone plaque engraved: "This memorial dedicated by ~ Winfield American Legion Post 10 ~ to all men and women who ~ honorably served their Country ~ to preserve our freedom". A flagpole is mounted near this memorial.
The south section has a granite memorial with bronze name plates of veterans. The monument is engraved: "In the memory of ~ those who served ~ their country ~ lest their ~ lives ~ be forgotten".

Kansas Veterans Cemetery
(North East of town - 152nd and North College)
Type:
Pavilion
Description:
The cemetery is located at the Kansas Veterans Home. Central to the cemetery is a large pavilion with: "No one is ever buried alone - all are buried with honor" engraved on the portal.
